Holiday Snowflakes
A retail client came to us with an upcoming holiday promotion. As part of the promotion, the client was looking to create differing sized snowflakes that would decorate their stores to the tune of 450,000 elements. The client brought in a one-off sample and asked for our expertise in bringing into production. Serigraph was able to match the price of the one-off sample with dazzling hand assembled elements.
Details of the products created:
· 53,061 assemblies hand produced
o Six different headers
o Two chandeliers
o Stringer sets
· Six glitter laminate and chrome table mats per store
· 740,000 glittered snowflakes
o Approximately 9 million shards applied by hand
· 275,000 square feet of duraplast used; enough to cover six football fields
· Custom made and tested cartons
Timing
· Over 15,000 hours of labor used to produce assemblies
· Over 2,400 hours of QA done to ensure quality parts were produced
· Elements were produced and shipped to 4,000 stores within 6-8 weeks
Results
· Customer saved $440,000 in freight costs from that of China based-options
· Eliminated 6 to 8 weeks in lead time
· Store owners surveyed were pleased with the look, and thought the products were more robust than previous year’s promotions. They were happy with how the elements were packaged (arrived in prime condition) and the instruction sheets that were included.
