Serigraph Wins Best in Category Awards in Statewide Print Competition
(West Bend, WI – May 13, 2010) – Serigraph Inc. received two awards for outstanding achievement in the 10th Annual Graphics Excellence Awards, a statewide competition hosted by the Printing Industries of Wisconsin. Competing against nearly 800 entries from printing and graphic arts firms in Wisconsin, Serigraph’s Integrated Graphics Division received Best in Category Awards for both Special Innovation and They Said It Couldn’t Be Done. The Graphics Excellence Awards program recognizes commercial printers who are leading the industry in both existing and emerging print technologies.

The Special Innovation award recognizes materials that were produced using a new, expanded, unique or innovative mix of existing technologies. They Said It Couldn’t Be Done is awarded to printers who exceed limitations and expectations when tackling the numerous challenges faced on the toughest jobs. Serigraph’s winning entry in both categories is a high impact illuminated door-sill insert for the automotive industry. This decorative and functional screen printed appliqué was required to be scratch resistant because of its placement in a high traffic door sill area. Serigraph’s patented process, “Seriglaze” was used to deliver maximum scratch resistance to prolong the life of the graphic. The insert is easily personalized and environmentally friendly due to the single LED light engine used to provide backlit illumination. Electronics placed behind the graphics can be continually varied to provide an endless array of colors to illuminate the door sill.
